Artist's Biography

Susie studied at Earling School of Art 1959-1964, specialising in textile design and printmaking, obtaining a BA at Hammersmith School of Art in 1979 for sculpture. Susie also studied painting at The New Richmond School of Art with David Wiseman. 

In 2010, Susie moved to Suffolk where she designed and project managed the refurbishment of a 500 year old barn which is now her studio. A painter, printmaker and sculptor, painting in acrylics on canvas and watercolours on paper. In 2015, Joyce was elected to the National Acrylics Painters' Association. 'My work is about my passion for colours and how they realte to each other, how they helpt to create form and space.' 

Susie has exhibited at The GAllery, Stoke Newington London; The Edith Grove Gallery, Chelsea; Sackville Gallery, Piccadilly; Mexico Gallery, Hampstead; St Ives Cornwall and locally at The Lookout, Aldeburgh.
